Monroeville is a rock alternative bluegrass band that regularly explores folk and country music genres. Named in honor of legendary bluegrass musician Bill Monroe and fronted by Grammy nominated band leader/owner Matt Munsey, the core band also features versatile vocalists and utility musicians McCoy Borg, Chevy Watson, and Paul Watson.
The band has recorded and released several albums and singles, including their self-titled debut album Monroeville in 2011, singles "So Far" (2012) and "Prisoner of War" (2013). These were followed up by the full-length album, Can’t Put Me Out in 2014. Monroeville won the International Bluegrass Music Association's Momentum Award in 2012. In 2014, their single, "Be Natural," was picked up and distributed by CMT (Country Music Television). Their latest album, Worlds Apart was released in 2016. The band plans to release a new album in October of 2019 and in the meantime continues to gather devotees from across borders and musical genres.
