Since the band’s inception four years ago, Monroeville, has been on a mission; bring musicians back to music.
With musical backgrounds versed in country, rock, gospel and theater, the common thread that has bound the members of Monroeville together is bluegrass. Monroeville’s name itself pays homage to an innovator in music, Bill Monroe. However, just as their musical influences and experiences are vast, their sound is unique. At the band’s core is a belief that good music knows no boundaries.
Ranging in age from 21 to 30, members of Monroeville are not only a seasoned performers, but multi-instrumentalists and songwriters. Their newest original single released on VEVO, “Be Natural” is crossing over several musical platforms, blurring the lines of genre. With a new project in the works, Monroeville is partnering with industry professionals across genre platforms to take their unique bluegrass style and create original material that translates into a high energy stage show and expands the musical palette of the listener.
Named the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Momentum Band of the Year, Monroeville has taken their unique style of music and performed at events such as Grey Fox, NY, RockyGrass in Colorado, Bristol Motor Speedway, has appeared on the Today Show, and hosted the Hard Rock AcoustiCana Series in Nashville sponsored by Epiphone and the Gibson Bus. Monroeville is also aware of promoting a positive musical influence in youth by performing for over 25,000 kids in free school programs across the country.
